Welcome back, everyone,

This week I will be doing things a little differently. Instead of sharing some facts or using this blog to teach on a particular topic, I thought I would share something I wrote a few months back as I was dealing with some personal issues.

At the time, I felt highly beat up by life and felt as if I needed to remind myself that I did, in fact, matter in this world, no matter how useless I felt at the time.

I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it.

I Am

I am not the best person, but I try to be the best person I can be.

I was not the best child, but I tried to respect, observe, listen and learn all the lessons I was being taught to live the most efficient and effective life possible.

I am not the best sibling, but I have tried to be the most protective, understanding, and tolerant sibling I can be.

I am not the best partner, but I have tried to be the most compassionate, forgiving, and patient one I can be.

I am not the best parent, but I love deeply, and I have tried to teach the best lessons I can teach.

I am not the best friend a person can have, but I have tried to be the most loyal and empathic one I can be.

I am not the best employee, but I always give my best.

I am not the best person, but I always try, do, and give my best, and when my time is done, and it is time for me to move on, my absence is always noticed.

Although I am not the best, I make a difference by giving my best, and the difference I create is what matters.

We each have the power to change lives and to improve the world we live in. If all I could say about my life at the end of my days on this earth were that I touched lives for the better with every opportunity presented to me, I would die a proud and a happy person, for I would know that I played my part in making this world a better place through the lives that I touch and my acts of love and kindness would live on for generations to come.

However, for as long as I draw breath, I will continue to work to improve on all I know I am

Final Thoughts

I’m not sure if any of you have ever felt useless or completely unbeaten down by the world or those people surrounding you. But, if you have, you must remember that we all have a purpose and matter.  Neither people nor the situations we live through will define who we are, and only our actions will do that.

If you are allowed to make this world a better place today, grab the opportunity with both hands and prove who you are in the actions of love and kindness you show.

Until next week, Namaste
