Welcome back everyone, this week, I thought I would discuss the six ego beliefs blocking you from your intentions. For those of you who do not understand what I mean by ego belief, I will explain.

As you know, the ego is what says what matters to use and what doesn’t on a personal level, and the ego expresses our need for self-importance. Below, I will break down six of these beliefs that tend to block our ability to manifest our intentions.

Following this breakdown, I will also explain how you can correct these beliefs and unblock yourself to manifest your intentions. If you are interested in learning about these ego beliefs and how to release them so that you can further your journey to becoming positively improved, please read on.

The six ego beliefs

1. I am what I have (my possession define me)

It is quite common for a person to believe that their material status is of significant importance, but in truth this is only the ego talking and simply reinforce by society to be the only way to prove that you have a certain level of value. When you allow this belief to be your driving force behind why you take action, you disconnect from the source and divine guides.

People who hold this belief tend to allow what others think or how others see them matters more than what they believe about themselves. They also tend to give up what they really want to be seen or feel a certain way.

This is a false belief and will only lead to more and more need for stuff that you do not really need and in some cases want, it will also block you from having anything of real and honest value.

        2. I am what I do (my achievements define me)

There are so many of us that believe we have to constantly have to be achieving new heights to matter or leave our mark on this world. And although it is a good thing to have goals, and intentions and to feel the success that comes with achievement. This is not what gives us value as individuals. It most certainly does not define who we are as a person. Again this is only your ego and needs to feel self-important talking to you and this will only cause a block to any other intention you might have.

        3. I am what others think of me (people’s acceptance and approval define me)

This belief has never really sat well with me, likely because I learned at a young age that people do not always accept you as you are, and I have never needed to change for other people’s benefit, but some people do believe that what others think about them is what defines them.

This is again the ego talking and in most cases is telling you that you do not matter if you are not accepted or approved of by certain people. This will likely block and keep you from any kind of authentic intention you might have s most intentions we have as individuals are selfish no matter how selfless of a person you might be.

However, this is your ego lying to you, as what you think about yourself and what you want should always be the highest priority when it comes to your well-being.

         4. I am separate from everyone (my body says I am alone)

This is when you spend a lot of time alone. Those of us that do, our egos could be repeating this to us on a loop in our heads. When you believe you are alone and that you are separate and unsupported. Life seems to be a lot harder to bear.

If you are a spiritual person, you will likely know that your ego is lying to you as you will know that you are never truly alone and that holds true for us all as long as we are connected to the source but if you believe you are separated you will, in fact, separate yourself from the source and divine guidance which will again, block yours from manifesting any intention you might want to create.

         5. I am separate from all that is missing from my life (my life, as it is, is separate from my desires)

This belief tells you that you can not manifest your intention and if you really believe this you will be right as we create what we believe to be real. When you believe that you cannot have what you want, then the universe feels that vibration, and you create the opposite of what it is that you want because your belief does not align with your desires.

When you find that your beliefs and desire do not align, you will be blocked by your ego or your need for self-esteem or self-importance to manifest your desires.

         6. I am separate from divine guidance (my life depends on divine authority to assess my worthiness)

This belief holds true for those of us that struggle with lots of hardships. When you are surrounded by lots of challenges and obstacles, it is hard to see that anyone has your back, let alone divine guidance. However, when you believe you do not have divine guidance you separate yourself from it because as discussed before what we believe we manifest.

The only way to feel divine guidance is to open yourself to it and surround yourself with whatever the outcome in the full knowledge that whatever may come it is for your highest good even if at that moment it does not seem that way.

If you are not seeing the universe in action in your life, it is not because you are unworthy, as we are all worthy regardless of who we are or what we have done for divine intervention and guidance. It is simply because you have in some way blocked yourself from it, or you are simply not open to receiving that which is freely given.

The four steps to letting go of ego beliefs

Now you have seen what the six ego beliefs are now that’s look at ways to let go of these ego beliefs and unblock our intentions for manifestation. Below, I will give you four steps to letting go and unblocking.

     1. Discipline –

What is discipline? This is the training of your body and mind so that you can control with greater ease your actions and thoughts. When you can control your thoughts and actions with greater ease, you can take daily action to manifest your intentions.

     2. Wisdom –

What is wisdom – it is when you use experience and foresight to see the bigger picture of the situation at hand. Why is it important? Because it will allow you to have the patience needed with yourself while you train your body and mind to have a greater discipline that will lead to your desired outcome.

     3. Love –

What is love – this is your passion for what you are doing. Why is it important? Because it is important to love all that you do and that you do what you love. When you love what you are doing, you find it a lot easier to do.

     4. Surrender –

What does surrender mean – to cease to resist and to submit to a higher authority. Why is it important to surrender? Because this is the place of intentions, where the body and mind release any sense of control. This is the place where you relax and allow the universe to take charge and guide you to where you are meant to go.

Final thoughts:

When you can do all four of these steps mentioned above, you will find that you let go of all need for ego, and you will watch your intention manifest before your very eyes with ease.

If you want more teaching on intention or teachings such as these, I would encourage you t read Wayne Dyer’s book entitled The power of intentions. I have found this book most enlightening, and I am sure you will too.
