Welcome back, everyone. This week I thought we could discuss ten things you can do to be in a state of happiness and contentment. Anyone who struggles with chronic stress, worry, or doubt can tell you that it is a daily struggle to feel happy or content.

If you are one of these people that struggles with one or more of these things, you might be relieved to know that below I will spell out ten ways you can learn to turn your frown upside down and be in a more consistent state of happiness, which in turn will help you feel content with yourself, relationships, and overall life.

If you would like to learn what each of these ways are, then stick with me as we take our next step toward becoming positively improved.

1. Do What You Love –

The first way, and one of the most effective ways, to bring yourself to a state of happiness is to simply do what you love. Now, I do not mean to overindulge or to stop doing all those things that you can’t stand doing like, for example, doing the dishes.

What I am talking about is doing certain things that you really, love doing, like reading or listening to music while you are doing your exercises, or eating foods that you really love eating. By introducing simple pleasures into your life every day, you will be able to stay off the stress, worries, and doubts you might normally feel and give yourself something to look forward to each day.

Now, for us entrepreneurs, doing what you love has a whole other meaning, for us, it means to serve in a way that we love and feel will benefit people or in a way that will make this world a better place for us all. No matter what doing what you love might mean for you it is most definitely an effective way to bring you to a state of happiness and contentment.

2. Have A Attitude Of Gratitude –

Now, those of you who have been on a self-improvement journey for any amount of time will already know how effective having an attitude of gratitude can be. However, for those of you who have just begun your journey, this is a method that you should begin as soon as possible.

The best way to begin is to see any good that might come from your hardships, positive things about your relationships with others, or things that you love about yourself, your day, or overall life. Once you can see things from a positive viewpoint, it becomes a lot easier to be in a state of gratitude.

Once you establish an attitude of gratitude, you will see how everything seems to look and feel better pretty much all the time. This is such an effective way to be in a state of happiness and contentment. I would encourage you to try it no matter how bad things might be for you at this moment.

3. Extend Random Acts Of Kindness – 

Extending random acts of kindness not only helps those to whom you are extending kindness, but also helps you. Kindness is a gift that never stops giving and should be shared as often as you can manage to share it.

When you give freely of your time, talents, skills, money, or wisdom, you will find that you align yourself to receive gifts in return that will enhance you, your life, your relationships, your monetary standing, or how you serve.

Not only will the act of kindness help you to be in a state of happiness, but you will find that by receiving acts of kindness in return, you will enhance your state of happiness and contentment to become much stronger and longer lasting.

4. Surround Yourself With Like-Minded People – 

Our relationships with others are an essential part of our lives. The better your relationship, the more happiness you will probably feel when you spend time with those people. One of the best ways to have good relationships is to have a foundation of like-mindedness.

When you share the same values and beliefs with the people you surround yourself with the more likely, you will build a strong connection with them, in turn, you will feel safe and supported and there will be a more even and regularly share energy between you.

When you have these kinds of connections and relationships, you will find that it will be a lot easier to stay in a state of happiness and contentment in your daily life. If you do not have people in your life that are like-minded, I would strongly encourage you to take the time to find them.

5. Look At Life As An Adventure – 

As children, we see everything as an adventure, but as we age, we start looking at everything as responsibility and obligation, and life loses its sense of wonder or joy. Our sense of adventure, I feel, should be pointed out as something that we should never lose.

Life is not meant to be so serious and hard. You can take things seriously and live up to every responsibility and obligation with a sense of adventure and a spirit of playful fun. When you see life as your playground and have a mindset of adventure and wonder, you will find that you will laugh more often and, even better, you will share your joy with others.

Another benefit of seeing life as an adventure is that you will not look at success or failures in the same context, but instead see life as experiences that help you learn, which makes you stronger and wiser. I encourage you to let your inner child out to play.

6. Build Strong Connection – 

As we all know, relationships matter and are essential to the balance and harmony of our lives. However, not all these relationships are about connections with other people. Many people find the connection with themself to be quite satisfying and in all honestly, this is an important connection for all of us to make. 

While others find the connections and companionship that they have with their pet to be of sufficient importance. Some might find the connection that they make with music to be of value. While others might find the connection that they have to art to be what completes them.

And some people find that spending time in nature, or around water, is the way that they can connect to something that feeds their soul and makes them feel whole. Whatever it is for you, building and maintaining these connections is another important key to maintaining our overall balance and happiness in life.

7. Create A Spiritual Connection –

Another extremely important connection we should all strive to make is the one we all are driven to make with the divine. No matter what your religion, or beliefs are, we all need divine guidance from time to time, which you can not receive if you do not have a connection.

It is important to your overall harmony and balance that you work to make a connection with your higher power regularly. Whether you do this through prayer or meditation, I would encourage you to keep this connection strong. 

By doing this, you will be able to remain in a state of peace and trust most of the time. Which will raise your chance for a more constant state of happiness and contentment.

8. Maintain Your Hope – 

Having hope is one of the strongest motivators we as individuals can have. Hope gives us a reason, reason gives us drive and drive sets us into action and actions lead us to our achievements in life.

Hope is so very important to our happiness in life. Without it, we would not look forward to anything. We would have little reason to have faith, which would leave us with little incentive to take action, which would and does lead people to give up and abandon their dreams and desires.

You will find that without hope, you do not have what it takes to maintain happiness and without happiness, you will not be content, as all these things go hand in hand with each other.

9. Align With Your Authenticity –

In a world full of peer pressures and bullies seeking to control and manipulate us at every turn, it is hard to find, let alone live out loud, our authenticity. Yet, we can never really be happy if we are not being honest with ourselves and, by extension, the world.

As children, we are in the phase of learning by example, but as adults, we step into the phase of leading by example. The best way to serve yourself and others well is to be true to yourself, which can only happen in alignment with your authenticity.

No matter how ordinary or how unique you might be, there is a purpose and design for your existence by the creator and you should work to discover that reason and purpose so you can live out loud and proud. It is will lead to your happiness along with the fulfillment of your intended purpose in this life.

 10. Strive For And Take Daily Action – 

Now for the last way that I will introduce to you today. One of the many things you can do to bring yourself to a state of happiness and contentment is to set goals for things that you really want to achieve and then take daily action to achieve that goal.

We must constantly keep moving forward and stay in a constant state of growth and expansion. The best way to achieve this is to set goals and targets we would like to reach and then strive to reach them.

By setting attainable goals and then achieving them, you will keep yourself satisfied and confident in taking the next step. You should note, this is a way to meet your ego’s needs.
