Welcome back, everyone. This week I would like to discuss six ways you can improve your physical well-being. In this age of increased health, we all hear about improving our health and endurance.
Some people even gain all the knowledge they can to reach specific health goals, while others ignore their health despite what they may hear or know. However, this week’s discussion isn’t for these people. Instead, this discussion is for those wanting to know what you can do to start reducing our health issues.
Those people who have ignored their health and well-being for numerous reasons that one might but now seels to make changes but doesn’t know where to start. If you are one of these people, stick around as I discuss the six fundamental and practical ways one improves their health and well-being.
Hydration
Hydrating is one of the most effective ways to improve your health or well-being. Now most people seem to think that any fluid is better than no fluid, and if you were on a desert island with nothing but these certain fluids to hydrate yourself with, they might be correct, but in today’s age, when we have more than enough variety, that idea is flawed.
Water has been and will likely always be the best way to hydrate. Water has so many flavors these days that there is little reason that anyone could not love drinking water daily. In most cases, having all the fluids you can drink is good, as the average person needs more fluids daily.
The best way to know if you are drinking enough fluids, aka water per day, is to remember that you should consume half your body weight daily. For example, if you are 180 pounds, you should drink around 90 to 100 fluid ounces ( preferably water) daily.
For those of you who are absolutely against drinking this much water, try to at least drink decaffeinated and low-sugar content drinks. Your body will pull what water it can from these fluid choices. By doing this, you will see improvements in your hair, nail, skin, and overall health.
Exercise
Now everyone knows that exercise improves their health as it is plastered everywhere these days, and with the weight loss industry being a multi-billion dollar industry, it would be tough not to know that exercise doesn’t help people.
However, unless you are looking to shape or sculpt your body, the exercise that will help you do not have to be hard or strenuous to your body. Most people who are just looking to feel better or shed a few unwanted pounds find the expectation of doing 120 squats per day overwhelming and tend to give up the idea of exercise before ever beginning.
Now my intention is not to discourage anyone from doing HIIT exercises, as they are very effective in helping people achieve optimal health and weight loss.
I am saying that going for a mile walk while on a lunch break or workout in a chair while at your desk can be just as effective in helping you achieve your health goals.
The key to exercising and your health is not necessarily found in the exercises you are doing. It is that you give at least 30 mins of your attention to intentional exercise 3 to 7 days a week. If you can make time for the deliberate effort toward exercising each week, you will see improvements in your health and might even find yourself not just feeling better but also looking better as well.
Sleep
Sleep is so vital to the overall function of the human body and mind. When you go extended periods without proper sleep, your health and mental stability will decline.
In this state of unrest or exhaustion, you will feel and do your worst. Our bodies require at least 6 hours each night to recharge, and if you are not giving six to eight hours daily, you will find that your battery will not work as it was meant to.
As your battery starts to fail, you will have more and more health issues, and you will find it harder and harder to concentrate or to get anything done. You will notice that things that were once easy for you become hard and that you get frustrated easier or that you spend more time depressed and feeling defeated.
However, if you sleep each day enough, you will feel, look, and function at your best. Therefore, I encourage those who need more rest to do what they can to improve in this area. Both your body and mind will thank you.
Nutrition
This is also something that people hear a lot about these days. Still, as we learn more about nutrition through science and testing and proving theories, it is becoming increasingly apparent that we are not all the same and that what might be suitable for one person could be quite toxic for someone else.
So, yes, you must eat the right sized portions, your fruits, and vegetable but even more important is that you eat the proper diet for your body. It is so important that what we eat makes all the difference in how our body functions.
It is important to note that eating a healthy diet is so important to your health. To reach your highest level of function, you must find the proper diet for your body, which will take observation and experimentation as you see how certain foods affect you.
Once you find the correct list of foods for you, you will see massive improvements in your health and overall well-being.
Hygiene
Now most people do not need to be told that hygiene is necessary to maintain their health. Yet, again this is an area you will have to observe and experiment with. For example, some people require showers daily, while others only require bathing twice a week.
Some need to scrub and exfoliate as often as possible, while others have more delicate skin and may only need to exfoliate once a week. The idea is to find the right kind of hygiene, soaps, shampoos, and lotions for your hair and body.
If you find that perfect combination, you will see improvement in the feel and look of your hair and body.
Balance
And finally, we come to one of the most essential ingredients to optimal health. Balance is tricky for most people to keep in their lives. We all get so caught up in things and lose track of other things in the process.
And yes, it does take real effort to hold on to balance in your day-to-day life, but if it is a priority, then you will figure it out. Balance is very important to maintaining our lives and reaching our fullest potential in all areas of life.
If you can make time for a little bit of everything necessary, you will live a happier and more fulfilling life. You will also be able to handle things in your life much more maturely and objectively.
Final Thoughts
As I come to the close of this discussion, I hope you can see how each of these six ways is important to achieve improvement and maintain a better way of life and your overall well-being.
I hope you found this helpful information and will share it with anyone who might benefit from it. Also, if you have any comments that you would like to share, please do so in the comment section.
Thank you, as always, for taking this next step on the journey toward becoming positively improved. Until next week, Namaste.
