Welcome back, everyone. This week, I will break away from my standard format of offering information logically and diplomatically and simply talk with you. This newsletter and likely the following few newsletters will be based primarily on my knowledge and written without prior research.
Who knows, you may even know me better in the next few weeks as I will likely share information about myself and my life experiences. Honestly, it’s incredible to .e that you have been writing this newsletter as long as I have, and you don’t already know my whole life story.
I have done pretty well and keeping myself objective and talking from a fact-based mindset. Anyway, let me begin this newsletter off with a personal perspective, and then I will go into some fact-based info before closing with some final words, as usual.
Before diving in, Allow me to say that gratitude and appreciation are some of the best tools and resources each has to create the life of our dreams. I hope that as we progress in our lives. I hope that by the time we reach the end of this newsletter, you will understand better why I feel the way I do. If you are ready to dive in, please stick with me as I share how gratitude helped me advance along my journey toward becoming positively improved.
The Talk
When I first began this journey of mine, gratitude honestly wasn’t anywhere in my vocabulary. I had very little knowledge of gratitude, let alone how to feel it or express it toward anyone or anything.
It wasn’t until things started to fall away from my life that I began to learn all about the magic of gratitude. How many of you can relate to your world falling apart, and then you actually start feeling grateful for those things and the people who were still there?
That was me in a nutshell; what I noticed was that although, in the beginning, my gratitude was as small as a pebble, it still produced a little magic. This magic came in the form of things happening in my favor. An example would be that my youngest child, who had been ill but got better, provoked specific changes to be made. One of those changes was relationships that had been toxic to me, and my life began to fall away. I wanted to start my own business and ended up losing a job I completely hated, which I took as a sign it was time to figure out what I wanted to do from home. The more things fell in my favor, the happier and more content I felt, and yes, the more gratitude I felt, which seemed to produce more and more of the cycle of events.
This is what the magic of gratitude is: when you feel grateful for one thing, and with time and events, you slowly start feeling grateful for everything. As your gratitude grows, so will things happen in your favor.
It was honestly quite astonishing to me that I could feel so good and that my life could improve in all the ways it had begun to improve. I also noticed how gratitude was rather powerful by itself, but it was almost unstoppable in conjunction with some of the other things we will discuss over the next few weeks.
Things such as peace and balance amplify gratitude, almost like an antenna to the stars. So now, let’s examine all the wonderful benefits of gratitude.
The Benefits
Regarding the benefits of gratitude, you might be shocked that there are so many. Yet, there genuinely are so many great benefits.
One of the most notable is that it lowers depression symptoms in people who fight chronic symptoms of depression. People tend to feel more joy when they feel and express gratitude. This allows them to be and stay more regularly in a positive state of mind, thus, eliminating symptoms of depression, anger, and virtually any other negative emotion.
Pretty impressive, huh! Let’s see what some other benefits of gratitude are…… how about the fact it relieves stress? When you are grateful, everything feels lighter and less serious; thus, your stress levels drop noticeably. Another thing you are bound to notice when you spend a lot of time being grateful is how you handle adversity and any critical issues. You will see that you stay calmer and more mindful of your thoughts, words, and actions.
Because you stay calmer and more mindful, you will also find that you are a better listener and more empathetic toward those around you, opening the door for you to build solid and longer-lasting relationships.
Being grateful produces so many other benefits. One of the best is the health benefits, as it will improve your mental, emotional, and, yes, even physical health. You find that you are more willing to make good choices for yourself, and you will cherish every good option as you reap the incredible benefits of each choice.
I could go on and on, but I think you have the point. Gratitude can produce magic in your life if you embrace it and use it as often as you can.
In conclusion
All that is to be said is that gratitude can create a feeling of magic and wonder in your life if you choose to use it. There are simply too many benefits not to want to apply gratitude to your daily experiences.
Hopefully, showing you how gratitude has changed my life, and now that you can see all the many benefits that if you do not already experience the magic of gratitude, you will start using it more in all the wonderful ways that you can.
