Welcome back, everyone. In this week’s newsletter, I will discuss how gratitude shapes events in your life and the lives around you. It should be acknowledged that it can be rather hard to have gratitude when you feel like everyone, and everything is going against you. Yet, it is at these times that it becomes most important to have gratitude.
Now, before jumping into this week’s newsletter, allow me to tell you what you should be expecting to learn this week as we take this next step toward becoming positively improved.
I will give you the true definition of what gratitude is, along with three ways that you can use gratitude to shape your perspective, your mindset, and, ultimately, your events. By the time you reach the end of this newsletter, you will understand what gratitude is and how to use it to benefit you and those closest to you.
Now, if you are ready, let’s dive in.
What is gratitude, and how it works
According to the dictionary, gratitude is the quality of being thankful, readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. This means that when something is given to you freely socially, you are expected to give something of similar value in return.
When you do this, you are showing appreciation for the gift given to you. Most people already know this, but only some understand that this particular social conduct might be needed in certain situations. Not all situations require the gratitude you might freely give, either.
For those of you who do not entirely understand gratitude, continue reading as I will explain it in some detail how to use it to shape your life events.
How it changes the mind
Most of us think from our shadow mind, meaning the negative side of our brains, and yes, for those who do not know, we have a positive side of the brain and a negative side, which is sometimes referred to as your Shadow side. This would be that toxic voice that speaks lies and illusions to you, which I have discussed in previous newsletters. However, when you flip this way of thinking to a positive mindset or, for this newsletter’s purpose, a mindset of gratitude, then you shed the toxic mind and start taking on a new perspective.
With this new perspective, you begin to take different actions, and this action changes the way events play out.
Studies have proven that if you are grateful for things as they are, this gratitude can change the chemistry of your brain and the way it functions. It has also been proven that when you are in a state of gratitude regularly, it draws more opportunities for good things to happen and raises your overall ability to achieve success. Interesting, huh?
How it changes your perspective
Again, when you see things from a positive mindset, you see things from a lens of gratitude and love. Everything, no matter how good or bad it may be, looks better or as if everything will be okay.
A perspective of gratitude Is a great way to change a bad situation into something more positive. By simply adjusting your perspective, you can see frustrations as learning tools.
You can begin to see bad behavior on other people’s part as a way to make you stronger. You can start seeing disappointments as opportunities to grow. A positive perspective is an excellent way to start that chain reaction.
How Gratitude Shapes Events
Some ways to reshape how gratitude affects the events of your life are by introducing daily practices such as a gratitude journal. For those of you who do not understand what a gratitude journal is, it is when you take the time to write a few lines outlining what you are grateful for that day or in that moment.
Some people write in their journals several times a day, and others only once is all that is needed. It is always best to do what suits you and your situation. Another thing that you can do to share events is meditation. Yes, I talk a lot about meditation, but this is because meditation is suitable for assisting you with many things, especially if you’re looking for clarity or to manifest something.
As I said a moment ago, meditation helps you gain clarity. However, to take things one step further, I also want to communicate growth and transformation through this clarity.
Another practice that you can try is spending time in nature each day. Nature has a natural ability to make you feel safe and as if you are connected to something greater than you.
When you have this feeling of safety, you have a much stronger sense of gratitude. Any of these three practices and any other technique that would help you feel grateful is strongly encouraged.
Final thoughts
And here we are again at the end of another week’s newsletter. I have given you a much better understanding of gratitude and how you can use it to shape your life events and situations.
I hope that this information is of value. If you know someone who could use this information, please share it with them. If you want to share anything on this topic, please do so in the comment section below.
As always, thank you for taking this step with me toward becoming positively improved. Until next week, Namaste.
