Welcome back, everyone. This week’s newsletter is on seven interesting facts about the growth mindset. If you have been following my newsletters for any length of time, you will know that much of what I write about is about this very concept.
Growth is an essential part of life and is one of the most critical aspects of adapting to new life experiences in all areas. Growth will also establish how successful we will be throughout our lives. This week, I would like to discuss seven ways you can gain from having a growth mindset.
If you are as passionate about growth or self-improvement as I am, or you would just like to gain some new insight or knowledge, stick with me as I take this next step toward improving positively.
You feel more confident.
One of the most noticeable benefits of a growth mindset is your complete sense of confidence. See, with every challenge you rise to and overcome, you gain this strong sense that you can do anything you want.
This confidence promotes taking on bigger and bigger challenges, and with each new achievement or success, your confidence will get more sustainable. I honestly love this particular benefit of the growth mindset.
As I have progressed along my journey, this mindset has quite literally changed the way I view and live my life. I have so much more confidence today than I had when I first started on my journey. If you have not been on your journey very long, I encourage you to give it patience and time because, at some point, we all get to the point where our confidence skyrockets. You’ll see.
You can take any situation and learn from it.
Another interesting thing about the growth mindset is how you begin to learn from every situation.
From my experience, you start taking things so much less personally and start seeing things more as teaching tools. If you can stay open-minded and look at each situation as something happening for you rather than to you, you will likely notice how it makes all the difference in the world.
Again, I encourage you to make this shift if you have not already done so. It honestly changes how things look and feel.
You feel more optimistic.
You will also notice how much more you will see things from a positive perspective. Things will just naturally appear to be more optimistic.
Everything will seem to fall into place as though you never had to put the effort into doing it. This feeling can be so amazing when handled with care.
Remember, when it comes to optimism, you have to stay positive. The minute you make any kind of shift, you will lose this viewpoint. This is how fragile it is and why it is so vital to remain not just in a growth mindset but a positive growth mindset.
You improve your ability for resilience.
With the facing and overcoming of each given situation, you find that the confidence you gain also gives you the ability to become more resilient.
Resilience is another one of those things that is essential when it comes to a growth mindset and your overall success in life. When you lack this aspect of the growth mindset, things can seem more challenging than they might otherwise seem.
You are more open to feedback and criticism.
As you become more confident and secure within the growth mindset, you will also see how you can handle people’s feedback and even their criticisms of you or your overall performance with a more open mind.
If you are one to take things personally, you will find that when in this mindset and when you have confidence in your abilities, what other people think or say about you can be received in a much more open and objective way.
You tend to attract better people and situations.
Something else about a growth mindset is that you are more ambitious and success-driven. You tend to attract like-minded people when you are driven in this way.
This by itself is worth its weight in gold, as when you get more than one success-driven person aligned with you, doors seem to open so much easier than they otherwise might.
It is almost as if you align yourself to success itself when you have friends who are as driven to win as you are.
Are always willing to take on new situations.
And finally, the last interesting thing I will mention about a growth mindset is that you are always ready and willing to take on new situations.
Where most people seem to fear the unknown, you will find you are far more curious than afraid. You might discover trying new situations exciting, and the idea of stepping into the unknown leaves you feeling like you are taking on some exciting adventure.
