Welcome back, everyone. This week’s newsletter continues to build knowledge of how energy works within and around us. This week’s topic is about the correlation between emotions and energy.
As we continue this journey, you will soon see that energy works through us in so many different ways and has a lot to do with how things work within us and, by extension, how they work in the external world around us due to how we impact it.

How do emotions correlate with energy?
Our emotions are energy in motion. When we block the energy from moving through our body, we store emotions in our cells. Some ways that we use to avoid dealing with our emotions include dissociation, addiction, perfectionism, self-judgment, and being critical of others.
Imagine happiness as the warmth of sunshine breaks through the clouds on a gloomy day, infusing us with rejuvenating energy. When we experience joy, our brains release chemicals like dopamine and serotonin, lifting our moods and invigorating our energy levels.
Other examples would be:
- Courage: This represents the transition from a mindset of limitation to capability.
- Love: This is more than just a high-frequency emotion—it’s a way of life.
- Peace: This is the ultimate goal of emotional release, wherein you’ve freed yourself from all negative energy. In many spiritual traditions, someone who has achieved true peace has reached enlightenment.
How does the link of emotions affect our vibrational energy?
According to the concept of vibrational energy, emotions are believed to directly impact the frequency of one’s vibrational energy. For instance, fear, anger, guilt, and sadness are linked to lower frequencies. Emotions like joy, love, gratitude, and passion are associated with high vibrational frequencies.
The concept suggests that experiencing positive emotions elevates one’s vibrational frequency, aligning one with one’s true self and desires. Conversely, negative emotions indicate misalignment with one’s inner being.

How does blocked energy affect your emotions?
When the energy flow within a person is obstructed, it can result in various adverse emotional manifestations.
These may encompass feelings of heightened anxiety, unresolved anger, prolonged sadness, persistent frustration, deep-seated apathy, diminished self-esteem, a sense of disconnection, and challenges in effective communication.
The specific negative emotions experienced can vary based on which energy centers (chakras) are blocked and the extent of the blockage. Ultimately, this obstruction can precipitate an overall sense of internal imbalance and emotional distress, impacting various aspects of a person’s well-being.
For example:
- Root Chakra (base of spine): Feeling insecure, anxious, or fearful about fundamental needs such as safety and stability.
- Sacral Chakra (lower abdomen): Difficulty with intimacy, lack of creativity, and feelings of isolation.
- Solar Plexus Chakra (upper abdomen): Low self-esteem, lack of confidence, and feelings of powerlessness.
- Heart Chakra (chest): Difficulty with love and connection, resentment, and emotional detachment.
- Throat Chakra (throat): Difficulty expressing oneself, communication issues, and feeling stifled.

Ways to shift emotional energy.
Shifting emotions can be done by doing any one of the recommended ways below:
The BARES Model of Shifting Emotions
- Be aware of all your emotions.
- Accept all feelings without judgment.
- Recognize that you control your attitudes and behaviors.
- Express true emotions.
- Shift emotions consciously.
However, shifting energy is slightly different and should be done in any of the ways described below:
- Cultivate Positive Thoughts.
- Nourish Your Body Wisely.
- Connect with Nature.
- Exercise Regularly.
- Practice Meditation.
- Surround Yourself with Positive Influences.
- Embrace Aromatherapy and Colours.
- Foster Gratitude and Compassion.
Ultimately, shifting your emotions will shift your vibrational energy, just as shifting your vibrational energy will shift your emotions. Thus, any of the recommended ways will work to shift your state.
